Can you commit to about 15 hours a month for at least one year after you're certified?
This includes facility visits, follow-up, documentation, and council meetings.

Are you comfortable spending time visiting residents nursing homes and assisted living facilities?
Sights, sounds, and smells in long-term care can be hard. Be honest with yourself.

Do you have reliable internet access and basic comfort using Microsoft Outlook and other internet-based tools?
All program scheduling, documentation, and communication runs through Outlook.

Are you willing to have respectful but direct conversations with facility staff when something is wrong?
Most are routine. Some are uncomfortable.
5.
Can you complete the required training, Level II background screening, and ongoing certification?
Training is mostly virtual with some in-person components. There are annual continuing education requirements. The program covers the screening cost.
6.
Do you have reliable transportation to visit facilities in your area?
You'll need to get to nursing homes and assisted living facilities on your own schedule.
